Chestnut, White Pine and Spruce Trees
At our front door – Trees from Oakland Farm. Laura Greenfield, a young Bourbon County farmer, has taken on a big task, the propagation of native trees. We have for sale resistant chestnuts and several types of spruce and pine. The chestnuts came from the West Virginia state nursery, where foresters have been selecting trees that survive for 30+ years without succumbing to chestnut blight. These trees are not genetically engineered or backcrossed with Chinese chestnuts.
My husband Bill and I have planted one, and, yes, you do have to visit us to purchase Laura’s trees.
